Yes is an exhibition in many parts, accessible in the gallery, on your Ipod, online, and in the pages of a magazine. It does not deal in matters of either or, but rather and and also. Yes is about collaboration, discursivity, chance, acceptance, and the potential for more, more and more. For the artists in Yes performance is a catalyst for artistic flight, as ideas become actions that beget objects, and objects inspire actions that spawn even greater ideas. Through individual and collaborative practices these artists generate video-sculptures, wearable art, paintings that serve performances and performances that serve paintings, they find the unique in machine-made multiples and celebrate the reproducibility of individual experience. Whatever form is left, at the beginning or the end, this is art that relishes possibilities. These artists are underground, emerging and present. They have more names than I can list: David Adamo, Uri Aran, Julieta Aranda, Ronnie Bass, Kerstin Braetsch, DAS INSTITUT, Debo Eilers, les phantoms, Davis Rhodes, Adele Röder, Georgia Sagri , it's our pleasure to serve you, and Nic Xedro.
